Building a controller PC for a home CNC milling machine. It has to be full real time, no sleep mode, no hibernation, no power savings of any kind.

When the mill is running it cannot be interrupted whatsoever. If it is it can cause damage to the part, to the machine and to the operator.

MB Asus P5P800
Processor Intel P4 LGA775 3.0Ghz
4 ct 1GB Corsair DDR1 400mhz PC3200 (4GB total ram)
HD 60gb SATA2 SSD
PNY Nvidia Quadro FX3000
Win XP home SP2

Is this possible with this setup?

If so what needs to be done?

you need to enter the computers BIOS and look for power options .
Make sure all the automatic shut downs are disabled

The boot to windows and head for control panel
Again find the power options and set them so it never shuts down or goes to standby

After that it SHOULD keep running uninterrupted

I almost did the same thing!!

But, basically, any computer can be made to not shut off or power down. It is just a matter of the Windows/Bios settings as the previous poster said.
