I recently upgraded my computer and reinstalled Windows 7 64 bit.
I have the latest ATI drivers but after the computer starts up and I am on my desktop or internet the screen gets a green checkerboard pattern in spots and then turns black. A message pops up that says the display driver has stopped responding and has recovered.
This only happens in 2D scenarios. 3d games are completely fine.
I am using the following parts if it helps:
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45.
i5 3570k. Not overclocked.
Radeon HD 5770
Windows 7 64 bit with service pack 1.
8 GB RAM.
Please help! I had to reformate my HDD to make it work with my motherboard. I also reinstalled and uninstalled my ATI drivers several times, but it keeps happening. The screen goes black or there are checkerboard patterns, even when I move the mouse or run installers. 3D games are fine for some reason, as are 3D Mark apps.
