I have a Dell Insirion 530S with the intel chipset G33/G31. Is there a newer version chip set that would replace the G33\G31 chip set and enable Minecraft to run. I am not looking for high end gaming just enough to enable Minecraft to run for younger kids without having to get another computer.

He is right--graphics cards are usually more supportive of OpenGL and other graphic API's used by games like Minecraft. You don't need a high end GPU to play Minecraft either. Any dedicated GPU I have ever used, no matter how low the specs of the card, has achieved more performance in any game over the integrated chipsets. I can get upwards of 100 FPS on regular settings with a 20 dollar discrete GPU, however it hovers around 50-60 on my laptop with no GPU.

Ok. I wasn't sure a graphics card would fit but found that there are SFF (small form factor) graphics cards that have a 2.4 inch height that will fit into the Dell Inspiron 530S model.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Glad to hear that. Good luck! Also, remember RAM is very important for Minecraft--VRAM helps too!
