i3-3220 or i3-550 ??

im building a new computer

Motherboard: ASRock B75M-DGS Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($56.97 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Mushkin Blackline 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($35.57 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Samsung Spinpoint F4 320GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 7850 1GB Video Card ($154.99 @ Newegg)

im curious about which i3 i should go with.. and whats the big difference??

Go with the i3-3220, the i3-550 is slower and incompatible with that board, the i3-550 is for lga 1156 boards, you have a lga 1155.

ok i just want better performance i would of changed the board.... so its faster

But you don't need to change, the i3-3220 is faster and it's fully supported by the mobo you chose, it's lga 1155 which is more recent than 1156(it's old as the cpu i3-550), the B75 chipset supports any ivybridge cpu(i3-3220) out of the box
