2 wireless nics, 1 pc, same network

I was just wondering if it would be beneficial in any way to have 2 wireless nic's in one pc (1 usb, 1 pci) connected to the same network? I realize they would have separate IP's, which made me think maybe it would be just more work for the router...but just a thought.
