1.2 million MTF

The SCSI drive Toms just reviewed is listed as having 1.2 million hours MTF. Thats over 138 years. I don't think they had SCSI in the 1800s. Where did they get that figure? And if I buy the drive and it crashes after 25 years, can I get a refund?

** Just because you operate on a 4th grade math level doesn't make me an Einstein.

No you won't be able to get a refund if it fails within 25 years. It's an estimate of how long the hardware is going to last.

REALLY?! It's estimated to last 138 years spinning at 10000 RPM?

It's an estimate of how long the hardware is going to last, not how long it will be working for you. For example :: It could fail but the failure may only be that your system doesn't see the drive. That doesn't mean that it won't be spinning.
