Hi guys, i live in the UK and i want to buy a budget gpu while i save for a whole new rig.

I want it to basically run minecraft and tekkit.

I have found these:

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-evga-gt-610-refurbished-pcie-20-(x16)-40nm-1000mhz-gddr3-gpu-810mhz-shader-1620mhz-48-cores-d-su

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-evga-g-210-1200mhz-gddr3-gpu-520mhz-shader-1238mhz-16-cores-d-sub-dual-link-dvi-i-hdmi

http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1gb-gigabyte-g-210-1200mhz-gddr3-gpu-530mhz-shader-1237mhz-16-cores-d-sub-dual-link-dvi-i-hdmi-low-p

Are these any good for my purpose? Does anyone know of any better ones for cheap?

BTW my specs are (don't laugh):

My specs:
Manufacturer/Model: Packard Bell IMEDIA B2316 AIO
Processor: Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2200 @ 2.20 GHz 2203 Mhz 2 cores
RAM: 2GB

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium (Service Pack 2) (32-bit)

Thanks in advance

Yeah, i was wondering as the other two had 'high end' written on them and the first one only has 'entry level'?!

Is that just an old thing that hasn't been changed?

If the 610 is just an intermediate card, and your current GPU on the motherboard just isn't enough performance, then go ahead. Don't bother spending more if you plan on getting a much better one soon anyways.

I've checked a few youtube videos of people playing minecraft with the 610 and they say they can get perfectly acceptable frames.

I play with Minecraft with a RadeonHD4200 (much worse than a 610), and I get playable frames. It doesn't compare to my desktop at home, but for an intermediate solution, there are no issues.

GT 610 is the GT 520 rebadged. The GT 520 can at least play some older games at low detail whereas the 210 is more or less an IGP replacement.

Nobody is going to laugh at you man but to be honest i don't play either those games so i am not sure what would be a good choice.Personally for gaming of any sort i never would recommend anything less then a 6670/7750.

GT 610 is the best of them but still not great.
i say save a little more an then just get one final GPU for your build
dont buy a GPU now, just save more money for now

The OP has already stated that he is saving for a new rig so no point in getting an APU now when he could get a beast in a couple of months.

Also OP please get the GT610. It should do fine for now and keep saving that $$$ for a proper rig in the future.
