I am in the process ordering parts for my first ever gaming build. My budget is $400 with mail in rebates.

I already ordered my mobo, ram, and case. This is my build.

My question is, is the Asus Radeon 7750 the best card I can get with my $400 budget? I am willing to go a little over if it gives me a lot better performance. I intend on playing games like Skyrim on Fallout on high. Is that realistic in my budget?

Thanks for your time!

At that Price, it's the king of a budget gaming pc.

Ofc you could pick some better GPUs, but that would sacrifice a lot of Money. So GTX 650 ti might be the choice to make, it's around the same Price as Radeon 7770, and just look at the performance difference of the two GTX 650 ti vs Radeon 7770

GTX 650 ti easily surpasses Radeon 7770, keep in mind that results now might be different because drivers aren't up to date still drivers can't make up for that GTX 650 ti is ahead.

Here is a comparison of radeon 7750 vs GTX 650 ti.

The Price should be around 110-120$, it should make a significant difference.

Hope this helps, good luck! :)

Thanks those benchmarks were very helpful! I think I'll be happy running Skyrim at 60 fps on high with the 7750. I have another question. Does my build look pretty solid considering my budget? I already bought my mobo, ram, and case.

It doesn't get much better at your budget!

Just look at the build tomshardware did for 500$

it features very similar components as yours, except for the GPU ofc. :)

Awesome, mine is even better that that build in certain categories!
