Hi, I JUST signed up for this site after being a long time reader and This is my first time building a computer and I wanted to know if I needed the ti version of the Geforce GTX 660? I do want to play graphic intensive games at an average of 50 fps. I also play around with programs like after effects and fruity loops. I'm trying to keep my budget at $730 to $790 dollars.

Buying all from amazon

Here's the specs

ASUS GTX660-DC2O-2GD5 Graphics Cards GTX660-DC2O-2GD5 $218.88

Apevia 700W Power Supply $39.99

ASUS P8Z77-V LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard $145.77

Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155 - BX80637I53570K $205.00

NZXT ca-ph410-g1 Phantom 410 Mid Tower USB 3.0 Gaming Case Gunmetal with Black Trim $99.99

Corsair Vengeance 8 GB ( 2 x 4 GB ) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 12800) 240-Pin DDR3 Memory Kit $39.99

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus $19.99

Total= $769.61

I also will appreciate any suggestions for my build and should I go AMD with the FX 8350 black edition?

Do this. It will play any game you want on high settings.
It has a quality PSU. (yours was sketchy)
The GPU is better.

Stay very far away from Apevia - they're among the worst of the worst power supply manufacturers.

The above build is decent but on this tight of a budget I'd think I would forgo overclocking and do this:

Yeah, they're produced in the same factory as Asus motherboards and have most of the same modern BIOS updates and everything else you could want.

okay I changed my GPU to the 7870 and got the better PSU but it looks like i'm going to have to sacrifice the NZXT case for a less flashy one, oh well. I won't have to worry about a optical drive or HDD since I got those covered though. If I can get to a micro center I might go the step below the 3570k.

I found a OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W for around $60. Will 600w be enough to run my system? Can I get ultra settings with BF3, Crysis, GTAIV with ICEhancer mod with the 7870? just asking because those are going to be the games and mods I play to test it on. also thanks to you guys I had room to add a Crucial m4 64GB 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive and wireless PCi e card leaving my end result at $760
