Computer will not come out of sleep mode

Never used the sleep mode on my computer before and tried it for the first time last night. Bad choice as now the mouse, keyboard and monitor are in a coma. Tried re-booting to no avail, simply comes on in sleep mode. Haven't a clue what to due as there is no way to communicate with the computer. Any ideas will be appreciated.

What's your OS? Windows 7?


Have you attempted booting into safe mode?

Do you get a bios screen before windows tries to load? I've never seen a computer boot into a sleep state. I don't even think that's possible.

Disconnect the power cable from the case, and press the power button, holding it in for at least 30 seconds. Reconnect the power cable and see if the computer starts normally.

If that doesn't work you need to delete the hyberfil.sys which is located in c:\. You might try using a system recovery disk if you can't get into Safe Mode to delete the file. Hope this helps.
