Help me troubleshoot

mobo is nwly purchased as my old one msi880gm-e41 burnt. But just as I connected new mobo it too is not working. Cpu fan spins , power light is on, but no display n no lights on keyboard. My old mobo was having same problem. When i had taken my old mobo for rma, msi people informed me that my cpu is 125w which is not suitable for msi 880 gm e41. So i purchased asrock 970 extreme 3, it is having same problem,So someone suggested it might be processor problem. I am going to rma my cpu. Also I will replace mobo as it is under 30 day replacement period.

I have cm 850w modular psu, could it be the problem as well???

Cooler Master makes great cases and fans. Power supplies have a lot of negative comments about them....I have found you can't go wrong with Corsair, Sea Sonic, Silverstone or Antec.
