Help needed for my build :3

Okay, so i'm making my own built system and these are the specs:
Zotac Geforce GTX660TI Extreme edition in SLI
G.Skill 16gb RAM
Gigabyte UDH3
Enermax ETD t60 VD (because i got this for free)
Thermaltake Chaser MK-I case

The problem:
I really don't know which processor i should take... The i5 3570K or the AMD FX 8350. I only use it for gaming...
And last, for the powersupply i would like to have a Corsair Professional Gold AX850.

Oh and this is my first build and wanna read your opinions about it (: Like, is this build future proof and that kinde things :) Also want to know what i can change about it. Max budget is €1600,-

  1. 8GB of RAM is more enough for Gaming.
When I play Assassins Creed 3 i just use i bit more than 3GB

Buy An Intel Core i5 3570K (CPU)
Its better in all aspects against the FX8350 except in video editing

Buy An Asus P8Z77 V (Motherboard)
And for power supply buy a corsair HX750. It too is 80+Gold.

And instead of buying 2 GTX 660 Ti's buy a single GTX 680. Your system will be cooler and will be more stable.

Buy a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO as Ivybridge chips tend to run hot.

    Hope this Helped!
  2. For a 660 ti you dont need a ax 850. The ax 750 is way more than enough if you want corsairs fully modular power supply. The 3570k is what id get for gaming. Please make sure the ud3 you get is lga1155 and not am3. If the board is amd3 you can only use and CPUs. If you get the z77 ud3 you can use your 3570k
  3. The i5.

Even if you don’t overclock, the i5 will outperform the FX chip, and do it with less current and less heat. Overclocked... fuggetaboutit!

The power supply should easily handle two 660ti’s in SLI.

I can agree to this. Get the hx or ax 750 which ever is cheaper. Their both good power supplies
  5. I would have to go with Intel for the CPU type as this is obviously for a gaming rig. Intel CPU's have been much better than it's AMD counterparts since 2005 when Core 2 Duo was released. Also, I am pretty sure that the 3570k will last you at least two years solid. I plan on keeping my 2500k for a long time as it is a great CPU that is quite capable.

Look to the chart here. It's a great chart to live by when choosing a gaming PC.

    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-5.html

A Corsair PSU is a great way to go and the 850 will be quite enough for a 660Ti SLI setup, which is also very capable in terms of being able to handle games.

What size monitor and resolution will you be gaming at?

The regular P8Z77 V. It has all the features of the pro board but the Pro one has in extra USB 3.0 Header.

If you go for 2 Full HD monitor then buy a GTX 680 4GB. The GTX 660Ti has only 2GB ram and its only 192-bit. you will need that extra Memory to game at those resolutions. Id really recommend you to buy a GTX 680 4GB

Around the 1600 euros, the Netherlands
  13. From what I can see the games that they chose where very CPU dependant. On those games the AMD WILL do disproportionately better. But on the majority of games both will do just fine.

Now THIS test… realize that the i5 3570 is a mid range i5. The AMD FX8350 chip is the top of the line eight core. They are comparing that to a four core… without hyperthreading. Is that really a fair comparison? But the i5 wins at least half the tests. Throw that top of the line 8350 up against a i7 four core with hyperthreading and see what happens.

I get it, they chose two processors that cost within $50 us of each other, but the architectures really should be compared apples to apples.

if i were you id go with the Intel. That is an 8 Core CPU so i will do better in tasks like editing video etc. but for gaming a quad core intel is the way to go...

Aah, didn't knew that, thanks! But actually their both equal, and the AMD is cheaper... Why shouldn't i take that then?

Do you ever want to upgrade? If you get the AMD you are topped out. Do you want to be able to take advange of PCIe 3.0? If not, go AMD and have fun with it. I'd reccommend a 990 Gigabyte motherboard and get the fastest DDR3 ram the MB will support.
  19. that website kind of sucks dude, is there an alternative, its poorly designed.

Aah okaay, what's the difference between 990 gigabyte and Asus P8Z77-V? And i'm taking a kingston 8gb ddr1600 if that's fast enough ;p

Nope, i only use that site
  22. can u give me an alternate website icalvin since that ones hard to navigate in.

990 gigabyte is made for amd, and p8z77v is for the intel socket 1155.

1600mhz and 1.5volts for the ram is the maximum specs allowed for intel cpus before they void ur warranty im unshur for amd, but thats for intel.

The Asus P8Z77 V board is meant for Intel Ivy Bridge Processors not AMD ones. The 990 motherboards are meant for AMD processors.

Every processor need a specific type of motherboard or it wont simply fit(physically) or not function properly.
The intel 3570K needs a LGA 1155 board. Or the processor just wont fit. In LGA 1155 boards there are many chipsets. for the 3570K to perform at its full potential you need B75/Q75/Q77/H77/Z75/Z77 etc. chipsets. Thats where the P8Z77 V comes in. That board wont work with an AMD motherboard or chipset.

For the AMD processor you chose, the Socket Needed is AM3+ and the chipsets that you can use are 990/890/870 etc.

Total Cost is 1536 Euros! and thats below your budget for a wicked build!
  43. With the build abouve you can go for a much better monitor than what ive chosen because you still have money left.

And if you do want to overclock then buy a 3570K instead of a 3570 and a Cooler Master TPC 812 as a cooler for the CPU

And i really really suggest you to buy a single GTX 680 instead of 2 GTX 660 Ti SLI! This will be a wiser choice, trust me
  44. iCalvinn said:

Go for a 24'' 3D monitor which is 1080p or a 27'' 3D monitor with a resolution of 2560x1440. As 1080p on a 27'' monitor wont be very good as the pixel density will be less. Thats why apple use a 2560x1440 res display on their 27'' iMacs.
