  1. 6850s are awful in crossfire, you're going to have terrible micro-stuttering. I highly recommend waiting to do a full upgrade.

I don't know how quantified that message is.
  3. I went on utube and they said there awesome???? can i please have some good feeed back/ advice
  4. I'm also considering this or buying the 7870, not sure of the performance gains for the Xfire config. I haven't made up my mind either.

The 7870 is better as it will perform almost exactly the same depending on CF scaling. Best scaling scenario the CF 6850 will have a hard time overtaking an HD 7870.
  6. get the 7870 hands down
  7. Thanks! What would you take between a GTX660 and the 7870?

  9. 7870, just because I'm not a fan of the 192-bit bus

    how about this one

    or this one

sell your 6850 and buy a new gpu
  10. Yeah you should be able to get at least $100 for the 6850 then you can afford to buy the better single card option.
  11. i have 2 x 6850's, enjoy the microstutter. Sell your current card and buy a single better card. I dont notice microstuttering all the time, it is very apparent in skyrim when things drop below 60fps though. You can cap your fps to the minimum fps your getting down to to remove microstutter, but it reduces your average fps obviously.

oh, and you will be bottlenecked by your cpu anyway, fx6100's are bad for gaming. You will see some benefit by upgrading your cpu.
  12. I agree with thecrowe
  13. on the other hand my 6850s are up for sale on ebay i you want one lol. im only asking $85, only for sale in Australia though.
  14. ^good deal have fun with your single powerful gpu.... what are you getting?

probably 7870 or maybe gtx660. leaning toward 7870 though. it seems to be nearly as powerful as 2 6850's but has more vram and no microstuttering.
  16. sounds like a wise upgrade
  17. another +1 for the 7870...
as a 6870 trifire user.... im saying stay the fk away lol...
  18. 6870s do not run in tri fire, 6870x2 +1?
