Hi guys, my friend has this HP computer and really wants to get into the PC gaming world. He has this HP pc , and he wants to buy a Nvidia GTX 550 Ti. Can you guys tell me if it will fit in his PC? Sorry if this is a nooby question.

Yes. It will fit. The power supply (albeit on 300w) should be okay as long as your friend does not overclock the new video card.

Have fun!

It should fit and if it does not fit you could easily make it fit with some cutting but you should be just fine no case modding required.

Glad to hear that it will fit, but I used this PSU calculator: http://www.thermaltake.outervision.com/
and it came out to 305 w. That would be ok?

The calculator tends to over estimate some requirements and the OEM PSUs are generally pretty good. Companies like HP really hate to replace parts.

Alright, so just to make sure, a new PSU is not neccesary?

As long as the 550 is not overclocked the current one is fine. Otherwise, a new PSU should be installed.
