I have been looking to upgrade from my Dell Ultra Sharp U2312HM to either an ASUS PB278Q or another Dell U2713HM. In either cases I will be going from 1080p to 1440p and I was wondering if anyone is currently gaming on either a 1440p or 1600p monitor can tell me

1) What graphics card are you using? How much VRAM on said card?
2) What games do you play? Do you ever use up all VRAM?

I currently play Skyrim and Borderlands 2 but I regularly buy all the big titles. My next purchase will be Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed 3, Dishonored ...(one hell of a christmas break coming up!)

TL;DR : How much VRAM is needed for gaming at 2560x1440?

Best solution

a c 216 U Graphics card
a b 4 Gaming

You should not need more than 2GB unless you are running 3 cards in SLI/CF and use a 3 monitor setup. You really have to get crazy on the AA and have a high resolution to make 2GB of VRAM not enough and that takes crazy amounts of GPU power to have that as even an option.

EDIT: modding games will get you to that limit faster, and of course the future can change things.
