So I'm getting this for christmas from the folks and I wanted to add a non integrated graphics card, but I have no idea what I'm doing... I've shopped forums and am looking at this or this to go in it. Good idea? Bad idea? any better suggestions. The PC itself is pretty well non negotiable so I need something to work in it.

Is there any reason the PC is non negotiable? What will the computer be used for? What is your budget?

I was afraid of that... so up to the 500watt range? Will that cause space or any other compatibility issues?

For a system using a single Radeon HD 6670 graphics card AMD specifies a minimum of a 400 Watt or greater power supply. The power supply should also have a combined +12 Volt continuous current rating of 20 Amps or greater.
as far as compatible Dimensions: 150mm x 140mm x 86mm (5.9 x 5.5 x 3.4 inches) would work

Do you know your current build because that will help with deciding your future Graphics card.
