I was thinking of getting the AMD Radeon 7750 if possible

My dad(who is an IT) says that the motherboard is PSI 2, and the Radeon 7750 is PSI 3, he's not sure if they would be compatible.

Yeah, since your monitor is just 1280x1024 then HD 7750 would be great to run most of games with decent setting...

Well it's a present from my dad and I don't want to act spoiled and ask for a really expensive one

Well, HD 7770 isn't any more expensive, it just needs a power supply with a 6-pin connector (which you should have, because 8800 GT needs one too).

It's definitely worth getting, Tom is right. It's 20% faster than HD 7750.

I don't know my power supply wattage though, speccy doesn't tell me and can't crack open the computer right now, so I don't know if it meets the 450 requirement of the 7770

If 8800 GT runs in that PC, HD 7770 will run for sure, as it needs less power.
