I need some help for buying graphic card

From last 6 months i am playing games with sparkle 8400 gs but i cant even play games properly even on a resolution of 800 X 600.I played games like GTA 4,NFS Shift 2, COD black ops and even i was not able to play world at war properly at 800 X 600 with everything low.Now i am thinking to buy a new graphic card at a limited budget of Rs 8500 in india and i cannot extend my budget .my computer specifications are as follows:
CPU - intel core 2 duo e4600@2.4 Ghz
PSU - ZEB-450w(DSATA)
ram - 4 X 2 gb ddr3 1333 Mhz
Mobo - Foxconn G41MD-V
resolution- 1400 X 900
hdd - 320gb

I searched on google for 1 month and found out some graphic cards which were similar to my needs.I found gtx 550 ti, hd 7750, gt 640 3 gb, hd 6770.Please help me.I will be buying the graphic card by march 2013 . Dont suggest me anything other than graphic cards because i dont have money.I am from india tell the cost in indian currency only.if i would buy online it would be from flipkart.com

To be honest, I don't think you will see more of an improvement unless you upgrade your gpu AND cpu. That being said, if you aren't going to buy until March wait until then to ask this question. Price should have dropped quite a bit and maybe the 8000 series will be out by then.

I'd suggest getting HD 7750. You will get a massive boost in performance, but still, don't expect to max games out.

Hello Sah,
Your rig is okay but could use more vidcard.
8400GS is not powerful.
The new HD7750 GDDR5 is interesting - it's fairly powerful for only $100 bucks (Canadian).
Also, it uses very low power and doesn't even need a power connection!
At 1400 x 900 it should actually be good for you.
With not maximum game settings (and no AA) you should get nice framerates.
Quiet, and runs cool too.
Oh man, I just converted your budget to be $150 bucks!
So get the HD7770 - or maybe even a GTX560 on clearance sale (but you will need 6-pin PCIe power connection).

Hey, the gtx 550 ti is fast, but u wont play the newest games on high (some games) beacuse of ur cpu.And idk about the 6770. btw i had 8400gs and i played cod waw on 840x680,high settings.

your zebronics psu may not have 6 pin connector.that psu is crappy and not at all good.

you dont need a new psu to run a 7750.
7750 will run just fine on your current psu

You cannot get a PSU for that little.

@Mohit: yes it will, but GTX 550 Ti will not.
