Hi all,

I swapped out my AMD Radeon HD 7870 and putted in a GTX 660.
My problem is that now even after even reinstalling far cry i cant select DirectX11 in Far Cry, that also means no AA and stuff.
While im pretty sure it should handle DX11. installed latest drivers and started farcry3_d3d11.exe

What am i doing wrong?

Well, the first thing you did wrong was swap out a powerful card (HD 7870) for a less powerful card (GTX 660). If you aren't willing to just put the better card (7870) back in then there are a few things you need to do. First, make sure you uninstalled the AMD drivers. Then, uninstall the nVidia drivers. Then download driver sweeper and clean all the trace elements of the drivers from your PC. Finally installed the latest nVidia drivers and report back.

But really you should reinstall the 7870, follow the above steps except for when you reach the last step install the latest AMD drivers instead.

Really, 7870>GTX660 (especially since Catalyst 12.11 has been released)

I had a 7870 but it crashed a lot randomly and i choose this gpu as RMA because i prefer nvidia and in some tests it actually was 1.9% faster like that makes a big difference:p i have an Asus GTX 660 OC version.

But bad news, i did driver sweeper reinstalled all graphic drivers but now i still only see the DirectX9 option.. When i boot it up (the DX11 version) it will automatically go back to the DX9 version :O

Does this mean i should reinstall Windows?..
