Hi

Please let me know how to reduce the temperature of my SMB1930N (1360x768@60Hz) 512MB GeForce 210 (nVidia), it is presently having a temperature of 79 degree C. My all other hardware are maintaining the temperature range between 30 to 40 degree C. Like for example CPU is Intel Pentium E5700 @ 3.00GHz at 37 °C, Motherboard is Intel Corporation DG41RQ (J2E1) at 35 °C, and HDD is 466GB Seagate ST3500413AS ATA Device (SATA) at 33 °C.

Please help me to reduce the temperature of my nVidia Card, Thanks

It could also be related to poor ventilation in the case. Since it's an entry level card designed for HTPC maybe it has a passive heatsink (no fan) on the card so it relies only on the case airflow. If it has a fan as suggested by Gamoholic the first step would be to blow it with a dust remover can. If it doesn't help see if the fan spins correctly. There are probably some software to test it at different speed and run other tests.

Dear Computer Experts

I get black screen of death with annoying sound from my pc speakers while playing games only. Apart from playing games my pc is working fine and it has no problem at all. The windows 7 is perfect which I installed in May 2011; is in excellent shape, all other programs like videos, online surfing, audios, working on MS office are running well without any issue. So the problem lies with games only that too the new games and not the older ones like Stronghold Crusader Extreme is running well, but newer games like Call of Duty, Sniper Ghost Warrior, Time Shift or Euro Truck 2, I experiencing the black screen of death. My PC is desktop and the current room temperature is around 15 degrees C. The outside temperature is running in the range from 5 to 8 degree C. The specs of my pc are as under:-

1. Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core E5700 3.00 GHz (Wolfdale 45nm Technology)
2. RAM: 3.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2 @ 333MHz (5-5-5-15)
(As I read on the internet that windows 7 32-bit system cannot support RAM more than 3.0 GHz so I have installed just 3.0 GHz)
3. Video Card: SMB1930N (1360x768@60Hz), 512MB GeForce 210 (nVidia)
4. HDD: 466GB Seagate ST3500413AS ATA Device (SATA) can be rounded as 500 GB
5. OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

The most probable reason could be overheating of my graphic card, which will be resolved by cleaning the graphic card fan and the CPU in general, and using of thermal paste which will surely resolve the black screen of death issue.
Now please advise me which nVIDIA Graphic card will be best suited for me with a budget range within 50 to 70 $, and also that will support my system specs mentioned above, at present the graphic card is of 512 MB, can my pc support a card of 2.0 GB or for that matter 3.0 GB, please advise

Maybe something like a 7770 would be best suited for you. You have a very aged system at least 5 years old now if I'm not mistaken. The one you have is slower then most Core 2 Duo's which are around that time frame. What is your current power supply. You listed the other items. Also keep in mind that if you were to upgrade your computer entirely you would need to move to windows 64 bit whether that was 7 or 8.

It says it came out in 2010 Q3 from intel. Reason why I thought it was older was because it uses the legacy socket 775. Yes your system can support the 620 however the 620 is not a gaming chip its more of a display/home theater PC chip.

Graphic cards 101

First number isn't nearly as important as the 2nd or 3rd
Nvidia 5,6,7,8,9 (gaming chips) 1,2,3,4, 5 (HTPC chips)
AMD 7,8,9 (gaming chips) with 50, 70 (being the greater of the two) current series doesn't have anything below 7. but the same rules apply really for the AMD chips 6 would be a HTPC chip more then likely.
