Hello, first time builder here.
I've come up with a build that costs under $600;

HDD - 250GB 7200 RPM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...)
Video - Radeon HD 7770 1GB (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...)
PSU - Corsair CX600 600W (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...)
RAM - Corsair 2 x 4 GB DDR3 1600 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...)
Mobo - Asrock Z77 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...)
CPU - i3 2120 Sandy Bridge 3.3Ghz Dual Core (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...)
Case - NZXT Source 210 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...)
Monitor - 17" 1280x1024 5ms (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...)

1. Compatibility? I did double check but there may be something I'm missing.
2. What games can I expect it to run? Low/Medium settings are fine for me.
3. Any parts that can be replaced with same value but less money?
4. Anything I should know before the actual building? I'll be looking at this site for reference (http://www.pcityourself.com/building/introduction.php)

Thanks!

Seems good, though I recommend investing in a better monitor. I don't think that one would use your graphics card to its full potential.

I've been thinking about 1920x1080, but budget was a problem.
I guess I can go with spending an extra $30-40, I'll have to see though.

Yeah I'd recommend that. My graphics card is only a 7750 and I'm using a monitor of that res, and in HD. Even if you need to downgrade something to afford it. Maybe the RAM, or heck, even the graphics card itself. It might be better using a slightly inferior graphics card with a monitor that uses it to its full potential. But I'm no expert.

Corsair CX 430 -- 45
HD 7850 -- 164$
Merc Beta Case -- 40
Pentium G860 -- 70
B75-E33 - 60
Corsair 8GB RAM - 38
500GB HDD - 55
1080p Monitor -- 110$

This will be perfect.

Will 430W be enough?
And honestly, 7770 is already probably overkill for what games I usually play.
I'll gladly take the other suggestions though.

I've built multiple systems running basically that build, and they all run perfectly fine. That system uses around 250~300~ watts even at load anyway. That will run you way better.
