Hey there, i was just deciding on a new video card that will hopefully last me over 3 years. I just received my new processor, an Intel i5 2500k, 8GB's of Kingston RAM and my new monitor, an Asus 24" and for my video card i was thinking of a an ATI 7870 but there's a cheap version, by Asus, and an expensive version by Sapphire. I know Asus is a well known brand so why is it cheaper? Also on ATI's website it's labeled as a 'GHz edition', is this for one specific brand or all?

The GHz edition just has a factory overclock (hence the "GHz" title), otherwise it's the same card. Those editions might have better coolers though, to handle the higher clock speed. There's no particular brand associated with GHz cards.

Every 7870 is GHz. There is no "vanilla" 7870. Look on Newegg.com. EVERY 7870 is GHZ.

Thanks, but on amazon, specifically the Asus edition, it doesn't have 'GHz edition' in the description, however the Sapphire and Diamond version do, maybe they left it out in the description?

Yeah it was left out. Stock clock speed is 1000MHz for 7870s, hence the "GHz edition." Check the specs on the Asus. It will say 1000MHz or more.
