Hi
In the Audigy's Sound Mixer under speakers, does the, "Digital Output Only" have to be checked for Dolby Digital sound when playing DVDs?

If not, when would a person use it? Thanks

Sound setup:
-DVD to Audigy card - S/PIDF cable
-Altec Lansing ADA885 Dolby Digital 4.1 - connected to Audigy using S/PIDF
-WinDVD 3 - set to S/PIDF
-Audigy Sound Mixer speaker = set to "4 speaker" ( Is this correct for a 4.1 speaker setup? )
-Audigy's AC3 decoding turned off

Does the above sound like the correct setup?

Yes, without this selected, you will get no sound at all through the SPDIF jack. Question, Are you getting sound from your speakers now? It may already be activated if you are. Also, I you do activate this setting, Creative will just send out the signal, witho9ur decoding it or nothing. If you enable DD Decoding, then select this feature, you may not get the sound in the quality that you want.

If it works for you then don't fix it.
