In my opinion you should get the corsair CX500 for the 7870.

whats ur budget and country of origin, also the cx430 is of higherquality than the cx500, they arent made by the same manufacturer.

The CX series is made now for the same manufacturer which is the channel well.

It's not worth getting the black, the hdd he has is fine, what he could do is get the 1TB caviar blue in amazon.

the 400 series was seasonic, 430 cwt. but has higher internals than the cx 500. and 600 series, again ur suggesting something higher wattage but lower quality interior.

i already try to avoid recommanding the cxline but only the cx430 comes to mind. the rest id avoid.

black is overpriced, only thing better is western digitals warranty vs seagate. but both are just as performant, id recommand a seagate barracuda 1tb 64meg cache or a western digital blue 1tb. black is more expensive than its worth.
