Need Advice on building hi-end pc ($2400/Rs130k)

Hi Guys,

Approximate Purchase Date: this week

Budget Range: Around Rs 130k/US $2400

System Usage from Most to Least Important: 3d rendering(3ds max), real-time rendering in realtime engine(unity/quest3d),Gaming (i only play Battlefiled 3)

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: please see below in detail

Location: New Delhi,India (near the hub of computer parts,Nehru place)

Overclocking: Yes

Your Monitor Resolution:1920x1080 OR 1920x1200

Additional Comments: 3d rendering & working on realtime engine are main reasons to build this PC.Gaming is not so important but if possible then yes.I've heard that GPU comes different for gaming and for working in realtime engine.

Please see below what i think about the configuration

Graphic card --ZOTAC NVIDIA GTX660 Ti 2GB

RAM--G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3 --32 GB (4 x 8 GB)

Harddrive--Seagate Barracuda 1 TB

I also need SSD 120gb for operating system, frequently use applications and to store some projects in progress.which one should i buy ? what about
OCZ Vertex 4 128 GB

Cooler --Antec Kuhler H2O 620 Cooler

Power -- please suggest
Case-- i like this one but i think i should save money on this (Corsair Special Edition White 600T Mid Tower Cabinet)

Monitor --Dell 23 inch LED - U2312HM OR if I managed to save money from any above then Dell 24 inch U2412

Please suggest.I need to build this machine by weekend.

  1. Thanks for replying.
Is there anywhere i can save money ?? It is slightly going over my budget and i want to purchase dell 23" or possibly 24 " monitor in same budget.
Like which mother board of the above is better (ASUS P9X79 PRO Motherboard OR ASUS Rampage IV Extreme Motherboard ) because there is huge difference in pricing of both.
Any other Mid Tower Case which fit all of these components without any problem. The mid tower which I've linked above is pretty costly.Though it is close to my heart but ready to buy other model.

This is my recommendation, you can downgrade to an i7 3770k, and a z77 mobo and have room for the upgraded monitor still.
  3. Very huge difference in costing.I don't think that i'll be getting components at these pricing in India.Anyways, thanks for your help.I appreciate.

  4. yo big phoenix3d.

i guess u can go with the stuf u chose, except get my ps :)
  5. Hi,
My vendor told me PC will become unstable if 32gb RAM used with this I7 3930k processor. Sounds funny but just need confirmation from you guys.
  6. thats bs, the 3930k can use up to 128gb of ram, ur vendor doesnt know what the hell hes talking about.

its the mobo that deceides how much u can use, and that processor isnt limited to just 32 can go up to 128gb as i said if the mobo supports 128gb
  7. Well said..:)
