I am in the market for a new Desktop. I use it for gaming (usually most recent games because I have to prepare for announcing for video game tournaments and leagues) and 3D rendering.

Looking at benchmarks the 3770 (no plan for overclocking) is superior to the 3820 in 3D rendering. That's why I selected 3770.

Cyberpower and iBuypower (they must be the same company) have similar systems around the $1300-$1500 mark. If I can save a few hundred building it myself, please suggest alternative DIY configurations.

Overclocking: No - but maybe someone will tell me why OC is the way to go. I do not want to shorten the system life.
