decent but can be way better, i used the i7 3770k. if you are not doing some serious work (actually making money off of the rig) you wont need x79 ever

dont waste your time on cheapo watercoolers. they dont perform much better than a good heatsink but cost a fair bit more. the ONLY closed loop system id ever think about is the swiftech h220 that is coming out in 2 months.
