OK so I am planning on doing my first PC build. Im somewhat new to desktops and PC's. I've passed the early 'Alienware is the best' and 'The only good PC is a $5000 PC' stages so I think I am ready haha. I really want to be able to play modern games at a good framerate and good graphics settings. I also want to be able to record, edit, and render videos. I hear that for this you need a little extra RAM for that so I think somewhere in the 8-12GB range is what I want. Here are the basic details.

Approximate Purchase Date: August, 2013

Budget Range: $1000-1500. I am willing to go up to $2000 if there is a good preomance boost.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Gameplay Recording, Video Editing/Rendering, Internet, Movies, Music, etc...

Are you buying a monitor: I think I have one picked out but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Parts to Upgrade: Everything

Do you need to buy OS: No. I have Windows 7-64bit

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg.ca, Tigerdirect.ca, DirectCanada.ca, NCIX.ca, Amazon.ca. Pretty much any where that a Canadian can order from
Location: Ontario, Canada
Parts Preferences: Intel CPU, NVIDIA Graphics

Overclocking: Yes (In the future).
SLI ar Crossfire: Yes (in the future).

I will post my potential build once I check prices and preformance and get some feedback from you guys.

all u need for ur video+gaming. comes with 27 inch 1440p monitor :)

@ op, at that time, in August, there will be the haswell cpus(somewhere around June), there's also a good possibility that newer generation gfx cards from both sides might arrive by then.
It's pointless to recommend anything now, and the prices will vary a lot.
Come back then at that time, and open a thread then.

Ok thanks for the update. Also I meant to say that would be the latest. So from now till August. I think I accidently deleted that. But if I dont get the PC until August I'll take a look at these new items and make a new thread. Thanks anyways.
