Hello,
Does this laptop come with a 64-bit OS installed

I believe this 640 series all come with 64 bit w7 installed-cannot find that particular model, bu these similar 640 models all show 64bit, and my 650 has 64bit W7

You my find the recovery partition has this ready, for re-installation
press and hold down the zero button as the logo appears on startup, will get you to that partition on many Toshiba models if the hard drive is the original/copy of original.
