which hard drive to pick?

I will soon be constructing a PC based around a Soyou K7V Dragon+ and Athlon XP 1800+ but still have a lot of questions to resolve before I can be secure in purchasing.

I was thinking along the lines of buying a quality 7200 RPM 80 gyg drive, but now am not so certain. With the capability of RAID 0 I was speculating that in the future, when a drive identical to what I am buying is considerably cheaper and I am more confident with system tweaking - that I would like to have two hard drives running under an RAID 0 configuration to reap the benefits of double data rates and double storage.

However, I read in a article on this site that the max hard drive size under current ATA specs is 128 gygs. Does this limit apply to seperate drives operating as one (RAID 0)? If i had the future intention of switching to a RAID 0 configuration with identical drives would I be well advised to buy a 60 gyg hard drive?
