Hi,

I've got a small but important question. Does RAM quality matter when your are not, or hardly 5% at maximum overclocking your FSB?
I know that there is a difference between CAS 2.5 and 2.0, but aside of that, does the brand of my DDR-266-RAM matter?

Thanx for any reply!

PS: I am considering the Asus A7N266-E, if you are interested. Any tips?

There's more to RAM performance than the FSB, like CAS (which you mentioned). Just get some Crucial, I've only heard good reports about their memory.

Well, except for some reports of them using Infineon chips that aren't as good, but I haven't actually talked to anyone who's had those.

Generic RAM is often CAS 2.5 and wont like high FSB speeds. High quality RAM can often handle much higher FSB speeds.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground  .

With name-brand RAM, you know what you're getting. The chips and PCB are of a high quality. However, with generic RAM, quality is not as consistent and the componenets they use is usually dependent on the price at which they can get them cheapest.
