Red CPU LED light Blinks once on startup and again 5 seconds later

I received all of my new PC products today, assembled my PC, and now I can't get it to start up. All of the fans turn on and the CPU LED blinks red once, and about 5 seconds later it blinks again and the computer turns off. I have checked all of the connections and everything is fine there. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

does it restart in an endless cycle? can you try another psu for the system to see if thats not a problem? did you plug in the extra 8/4pin connectors (whichever you have) that are usually on top left?

The PSU is brand new right out of the bot, so I haven't yet tried another one and the 8 pin connection is connected.

doesnt matter if its brand new out of the box... there is a term for that "DOA" (dead on arrival) or there could have been something that happened during installation process


atm just going after simplest and the "usual" suspect
