I'll definitely +1 the GTX670 as the strongest performer for the money (7970 will give no performance benefit you'll be able to see, and neither will the GTX680 for that matter). If you want the absolute best regardless of cost though, GTX680 is the definite winner.

Yes the GTX680 is faster (not by much) but for the price the 7970 is a better deal. One GTX680 is $450 and one 7970 is $350 (best price found on newegg). The xfx 7970 comes with three free games and is only about 3-4% slower than the GTX680 so in my opinion it's crazy to get the GTX680. If you want to x-fire/SLI save yourself alot of money and go with the 7970 set up.

The 7970 with the new drivers beat the GTX670 set up. Again! MSI GTX670 $350 with two free games. XFX AMD 7970 $350 with three free games plus the 7970 is about 2% faster (overall) than the GTX670. But it all depends on the games you play. Some are Nvidia and some are AMD.

He's asking 680's NOT 670's...

No Problem! I just want the OP to be well informed. All of these gpu's are great cards:) It all depends on what you want and how much you can spend. Then again if you x-fire/sli any of these cards that were mentioned they will all provide crazy performance.
