games on my computer won't work

i have a packard bell pc which i bought on Dec 16 04 and i bought a game
called the rise of nations but when i play the game it stops and it returns
to the desktop.
the game meets the requirements of the computer but i don't understand why
this is happening. can anybody help!

The 1.03 update should resolve most of those issues:
