Hey guys, I already have a 30" monitor and I was thinking of getting 2 more 24"s and putting them in Portrait next to the 30".

I know the resolution is slightly different, it would be 1920 pixels tall on the sides and 1600 pixels tall in the middle.

My question is would that be good for gaming or would it cause problems? Am I better off selling the 30" and buying 3 24s?

Also, do modern games support a resolution higher than 2560x1600?

I wouldn't reccomend that... It might work... But It wouldn't be so Great... And Most if not ALL games currently go up to 2560x1600 only. If you want to go Tri-screen, go 3x x1080p Monitors.

I run a 20.1" 4:3 1600x1200 IPS (LG L200ME-BF) in portrait next to my 30"s (U3011s), same 1600 pixels, similar dot pitch 0.2505 vs 0.255, works out well.

I was looking into 1600 monitors as well, but most of them are strangely expensive. As in not cheaper than $300. I think I'm just gonna get 3 1920x1080s and 3 GTX 680s, and sell the 30.

That would be your best bet. If you want the best graphical res, go x1600, but you want to be surrounded by awesomeness, go 3x 1080p monitors. It is much cheaper and in my opinion, a much better gaming experience.
