Something went wrong with the lowest of the low gpu I had (8400 gs) , stopped working....

Now I need a new inexpensive gpu (under 100 $ USD ) which wont bottleneck with my cpu......

My current rig - (Please dont laugh)(nothing overclockable :( ((((((((

Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 @ 2 ghz
Mercury PI945GCM
Some random case ram and psu

What I was horrified to see was that the mobo manufacturers website said it had
PCIE Express x16 slot

Not even 2nd gen !!!!!!!!!!!!!

ATI or Nvidia , anything is fine, just something good.

More about : gpu asap

I'm sure that wouldn't work on his rig,

PSU Wise, something that is old, I doubt it.

Tell me your PSU because, I need something to work on.

945GC supports PCI-express x16, 1.1 version. It's enough to run even the most demanding cards today, so no worries here.
Up to $100, I would recommend:
HD7750:

or HD7770 ($99 after mail in rebate):

Both are lightning fast compared to 8400gs. If you are not gaming on this pc, you may consider something cheaper like Radeon 6570 or 6670.

Edit:
7750 consumes about 20W more than 8400gs, so it should work.
For the 7770 (about 50W more) confirm that your PSU can handle it.

my psu doesnt even have pcie connectors ...and its a 450w i ball psu

and no the 7750 a bit more expensive here ( India)
Is the 6670 good for gaming ?? Not at max out ...but a playable fps at 1280x1024
the Sapphire 1gb ddr5 or the Gigabyte 2GB DDR3 ????
will extra vram and lesser bandwith be the same as less vram and more b'width ?????

I wouldn't call it good for gaming ;)  but it will have to do. It's much faster than 8400gs so maybe it will be enough for you. What about 6750, is it too expensive?

For 1280x1024 you don't need more than 1GB of Vram.

What do you mean "Disabled"? Can't you enable it in bios?

How did you manage to disable it then? Reset the CMOS and it should reenable itself.
