Unlocking the 650ti

I know this is random... But I wondered since the Nvidia 650ti uses the same gk106 chip as the 660, is there any way to unlock it so it has the extra features that the 660 has, or at least some of them?

Are you talking about unlocking shaders? if so then no, as far as im aware there isn't a way to unlock a GTX650 Ti. My guess would be that nVidia disabled the shaders with a laser rather than at the BIOS level so they cannot be unlocked (like the HD6950).

GPU companies always lock shaders/cores with a laser now because of the 6950 exploit.

Yeah haha, that sucks they do that now... I didn't know that, I only heard about the 6950 and wondered if this could work wi other cards

Yeah trouble is allowing shaders to be unlocked really hurts sales of other cards (including cards make by the same company), I expect the HD6970 didn't sell aswell as it should have due to the first gen HD6950's being unlock-able.

Though people who brought HD6950's got an absolute bargain!
