Update: I forgot to say I already own an SSD and dont need a new one!

Hi Guys I'm gonna build a new PC for my brother and need your help.

Approximate Purchase Date: one week

Budget Range: 1500 dollar

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming , multimedia, office

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Do you need to buy OS: No

Location: Switzerland

Parts Preferences: none

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Needs to be silent when idle, not very loud when playing games. The PC will be in the bedroom



Here are the parts I've chosen: (all prices in swiss francs 1CHF = 1 USD)


CPU: Intel Core i5 3470 BOX, LGA 1155, 4C/4T 195.-
cooler: Xigmatek Gaia SD1283 Heatpipe Cooler 120mm 36.-

GPU: XFX HD 7870 Dual Fan 2GB, PCI-E x16 3.0, miniDP, HDMI 231.- Im open for Nvidia as well. should be silent in idle
Display: Philips 273E3LHSB, 27" LED TFT, HDMI, 1ms grey to grey 281.-

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Green, 64MB, 2TB, SATA-3 99.-
Case: Fractal Design Define R4 - Black Pearl 118.-
Mobo: AsRock Z77 Pro4, Z77, LGA1155, PCI-E 3.0, CF, ATX 113 113.- not 100% sure about that
Ram: Corsair Vengeance, 2x4GB, DDR3-1600, CL9@1.5V 56.-
PSU: Seasonic G-450, 450W, 80+ Gold 93.00.- 450W enough?

Total Price: CHF 1221.-

Thanks alot for your advice guys. I especialy need help with the display and the gpu. I'd be happy about any kind of advice.

Hi Thank you for your answer. I forgot to say that I already have an SSD. Its a OCZ petrol, not the fastest but I will stay with it for now and if needed upgrade in a few years.

What PSU would you reccomend me then? My retailer offeres a Xigmatek GO GREEN Series PSU - 600 Watt, 80plus for only 84 bucks. Is it gonna be enough silent though?

I used the corsair PSU finder. http://www.corsair.com/psufinder/

They proposed me PSU from 430 watts upward. Are you sure 450W seasonic is too little? If so i will prolly end up buying a Corsair TX650 V2 that should do it :)
