How do I split the cscreen using windows 7

I want to do 2 things on my monitor using wins. 7 how do I do it.

I assume you mean at the same time, with both things showing on half the screen each. Open both "things". Drag one of the windows to the left side of your screen and let go, it should be expanded to take up the entire left side of the monitor. Now drag the other window to the right side of your screen and let it go, it will expand and take up the entire right half of your monitor.
