Any opinions on this player currently on ebay:

38565&rd=1

Notably, how does it compare to say an Elite CLD79, CLD-99, LD-S9,
etc.

Thanks so much.

It's a mid-level player, at best. It's not worth the opening bid,
unless the champaign color entices you to open your wallet that much.

It doesn't compare to any of the above. IIRC, Kurtis, Kevin, Julien,
or Nicolas (can't remember exactly who) had it on par with the D504 or
D604.

Try doing a google groups search for "cld r5" to see what others think
of it.

it's equal to the European CLD 925 - without the ability to play PAL though

Actually one small step above the CLD-D925.

The NTSC equivalent of the CLD-D925 was the CLD-R4 in Japan, one
iteration before this CLD-R5.
