The ranking system is heavily biased in favour of the people with the
most time on their hands ie: people with no kids and/or no job. People
like myself with commitments will find it extremely hard to get anywhere
near the higher echelons. The ranking system should be based on your
combined teamwork/kill/death ratio's no matter how much time you play
the game with maybe a 20-30 hour minimum playtime before your rank
becomes public....and don't get me started on joining Official Ranked

Yes ... the next rank after Lance Crop is on 10500 points.
I think that's too much.
When i see the ranks on BF2 , the highest rank is Sgt of the Corps ?
In the normal army is the higest rank a General ? Strange.
EA : something in the new patch and think it over about the points.

But note that it can be the *same* rank, as long as you can live with using
only one unlock per round and are willing to log out and change profiles
between unlocks. Once you reach Lance Corporal, start a new profile. You
just need a different email address. Use a disposable one, like those at
mailinator. That has the additional benefit that you don't have to suffer
GameSpy's opt-in spam.

Actually, it isn't biased toward those people at all. If it takes
someone 100 hours of playtime to achieve a rank then it takes you 100
hours of playtime for the same. The difference is that people who are
able to play for 5 hours a day will get there a lot sooner than those of
us who can't.
How is this any different to saying Half Life 2 is biased because
someone completed it within a day of buying the game where it took me or
you about a week to do so?
Honestly - your medals and your rank don't change the game much at all.
The unlocked weapons aren't really very significant to change the whole
playing field and it's still easy enough to get to play commander if you
want to. BF1942 didn't have any sort of ranking system yet the people
who can play the most naturally get much better at playing than those of
us who can't.
