My old 'puter is dying.  I want to cannibalize my old system but has been years since I have built or tinkered, so I'm kinda lost when I look online. :pt1cable:  I was gonna install a new OCZ-ZT650W 650W R PSU and a new VisionTek AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB PCIe Graphics Card, so I gotta work around those. I'm not interested in SLI/Crossfire, but I do want to surf the web, game and watch movies. My upper limit is about $400. Any suggestions? [:earl45:1]

I have looked online, but there are so many options that I have NO idea or what is great, good or bad, or what will work well or not work, so I just simply get lost.

Newegg litteraly has no combo's thats any good for your 7950. So I'll just put a case, mobo, ram and CPU list together.. also let me ask will you consider a ITX build? I really like the idea

What the heck is ITX? Like I said, I've been out of the loop for years.

He needs a motherboard and that FX 6300 isn't something i recommend. i'd rather have a Ivy i3 than to have AMD's "fake" real cores

ITX? its a like mini board that has 1 PCI-e 16 lane and no pci slots or pci e x1's.. basically the stuff your not gonna need wont be in ITX which is why its perfect because ITX is cheaper and you will have a nice little build.. check out the prodigy case.

Can the Corsair 200R take multiple HHDs? I may want to add an SSD to this system, if I can afford it. I have been waiting for a sale on the Samsung Pro Series.

The FX 6300 handily beats the best intel i3's in gaming , and demolishes them everywhere else
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6396/the-vishera-review-a...

The only downside is higher power consumption , but since that adds up to less than 1 cent per hour of full on gaming most people wont have any trouble living with it

If you wish to overclock ian FX 6300 then performance comes very close to that of a i5 2500k

So while YOU wouldnt recommend it someone who actually knew anything about it probably would in this price range

You can google for reviews of hardware like the 200R

its definitely built to a price , but its great buying with the rebate .
There is room for more drives

The mini ITX suggestion is a tiny motherboard with no expansion options. They are pretty cool if you want to move your PC a lot but you need very small fingers to build one . Best avoided for most people
