First PC - Budget 375~

Approximate Purchase Date: Late February - early March

Budget Range: Grand total under 400

System Usage: Gaming, School

Are you buying a monitor: No

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Anything that will deliver/pick-up near me

Location: Pinellas Park, Florida, US.

Parts Preferences: Nvidia hurt my feels once

Overclocking: I don't know

SLI or Crossfire: Don't think so

Your Monitor Resolution: 1366x768

Additional Comments: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xEQJ - That's what I have so far(Is a sample build from mmo-champion). If the part isn't in my partpicker list it's probably because I have that part. If you need specifics let me know. I would like to play Total war: Shogun 2(as well as all the previous Total war games), Diablo 3, Path of Exile, Skyrim, etc. I don't play FPS Games on pc if that matters.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: My first ever pc died out recently (never again alienware). I'm currently using an old pre-built dell with an intel 82865g video card and some other depressing things, I can't live like this! I need something new soon. Most importantly are my parts compatible. If I buy those right now would I be ok?

I'd rather not but, it depends on how much and what I really gain out of it.

Probably another situation where an APU is the best (or least bad) choice.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD A10-5800K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor ($123.79 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A85X Extreme4-M Micro ATX FM2 Motherboard ($74.99 @ Newegg)

You can add a better CPU cooler later and overclock, and you can add a good graphics card later.
Add a DVD drive if you can't/won't install via a USB stick. You could skip the hard drive if you can reuse the one from your old system.

For the budget and the resolution you plan to game at thats not a bad build you have selected in your PC parts picker list
At the resolution you want to game at the HD7770 is going to run those games very well
And at least with that board you can put a faster CPU in it later when you have more money to spare (e.g upgrade to a i5-3470 / i5-3570k)
The parts should be all compatable

The APU build is nice, but his original build offers better performance due to the HD7770, even a Celeron G530 is going to run most games ok, and the socket type allows for future upgrade as budget allows

This video card would be FAR stronger and you don't need more than 1GB at 768p. Squeeze it in if you can. You will be able to max out any game!

not any game, but atleast play on medium, 7700 aint no muscle car. it will do the job but not on max. dont give him false hopes.

Ok. Let's say the budget is 500, preferably 4 something. Also I don't need ultra, I just want to play those games buttery smooth =]. Forgot to mention, being able to upgrade in the future would be a huge benefit.

If you want to play them buttery smooth, your current setup would be fine. Otherwise a Phenom II x4 + 7850 would be good and probably be under $500.

I don't know parts enough to know the difference in power here. I will get this if its recommended by the majority. I have an external cd drive i'm gonna use because i'm cheap and very rarely use cds.

I know. You can install from a USB drive or you can grab a DVD drive if you must.

Well if this is in working shape and purchasable as is, looks good to me.

Honestly this wouldn't do much. If you stick with a 7770, an 1155 pentium would be fine, but get a stronger one. If you want to really upgrade, get a 7850 1GB and a Phenom II x4 or an i3-3220 if you can afford it.
