Hi all,
I just got my tax return back and with the money I am going to upgrade my pc. I am a huge gamer and I’m currently playing Guild Wars 2, Far Cry 3, Black ops 2, Battlefield 3, and soon to be Bioshock infinite, Metro Last Light, and Sim City. I don’t want to spend more than $2000 and if I can even hit $1500 or less that would be great. I was hoping I would get some feedback for what I plan on putting in it or possibly ideas of ways to make it cheaper without reducing too much performance and I also want to make sure it is future proof.

I currently have only a couple of parts I am keeping in my system.

I have a Themaltake Black Widow power supply,

Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 Motherboard,

NZXT Phantom 410 Case,

OCZ Agility 3 60GB SATA III SSD (for windows only),

So that is what I have so far and the list bellow is what I plan on buying.

2x Western Digital Black 7200RPM HD (RAID 0) $99.99each,

Intel Core i7 3770k CPU $329.99,

G.Skills ARES series 16GB DDR3 1866 $94.99,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Corsair H100i Hydro series water cooler $109.99,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
2x MSI Lightning GTX 680 (SLI) $499.99each,
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

So that is it… all together its about $1900 including tax. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
Thanks a lot
Mike

I would get a better PSU. Thermaltakes are good, but not for such high-draw situations; http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

indeed, a new PSU is in order.

your other stuff isn't that old, what RAM, CPU, etc did you have in it? and nnh...skip the water cooler unless you've got your heart set on it. that's my two cents.
