Which card?

I want to make a good computer for video games and video editing. I looked at a build that someone made with 8 gigs of memory, Intel i7 3770k, and 2 Radeon 7970 cards. Would it be better to get an Nvidia card? If so, which card? I heard the 690 was really good. I don't know which is better.

More about which card
  1. The 690 will perform better, but it also costs upwards of $1000. Actually, they kind of trade blows, but even though the 690 is two cards in one, I don't think you get the stuttering you'd get from a normal crossfire or SLI setup.

  2. The GTX 690 is better than the 7970 but its 1000$

and the crossfire HD 7970's might be better than the single GTX 690
its all up to preference to witch company you like

So I would probaly go Xfire 7970's
  3. Thanks!
  4. The 690 isn't worth it unless you have money to throw around, I should of stated clearer that I'd too recommend xfire 7970's.

Yes the 1000$ is not worth it for the GTX 690 unless you can just throw money everywhere
  6. Yeah, i'll probably stick with the 7970s then. Thanks.
  7. Can I just throw out that for video editing you don't need anywhere CLOSE to two 7970s?

A single 7870 would be plenty - one 7970 would be safety.
