I have two 5770 cards in Crossfire mode (because of unique circumstances, getting the second card was a lot cheaper than buying a replacement higher end card). Is there a way I can compare the specs of two 5770 cards to see what comparable single card it would be equivalent to? The reason I ask is that Tom's posts reviews on game performance given specific single Radeon cards. Mine, being such an earlier model, of course is not listed. But given that I have two of them in Crossfire mode, can I reasonably say that two 5770 cards is about the same as one XXXX card? Or is the 5770, even in Crossfire mode, so outgunned by today's higher end models that a comparison can't be made? If a comparison can be made, which single AMD Radeon HD card would be comparable to my setup?

its pretty similar to a 6850, 6870 or 7770. Having said that, the issues with stuttering and smoothness that come from crossfire would make it more jittery than a single 5770 at times.
