Ok, so recently my 550ti had broke and I was looking into a Radeon HD 7850 2Gb by Asus, however I am unsure of what to do with all the nvidia drivers etc.

If anyone could help me out it would be a god send as I have had multiple problems with this PC I just want it to work!

okay so once you have your amd card installed you want to press f8 while booting and use the safe mode. safe mode will boot your system with minimal drivers for no conflicts, once you boot into desktop go to control panel and uinstall your nvidia drivers, restart in normal mode and download the newest drivers from amd's webside

Okay thanks, I haven't yet ordered the card but; I think I may get someone to do it I have a spare bit of cash to spend on someone to do it for me since I have had such bad luck with the system :/

Here this may be easier just send me the cash later

Download and install this when you get the new card installed

http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/guru3d_driver_sweep...(no_installer).html

Run it and delete the drivers when it asks you to.

The computer will restart then go here to download the latest drivers

DONE

I mean people I know, i.e family or friends of my parents.
And I have seen a lot about that Driver Sweeper, just really nervous of something up.

Haha I wonder what word was removed... I wouldn't worry personally. Ground yourself before touching the card. Other than that, there's not really anything that can go wrong that isn't easily fixable.

Well I know how you feel - I've had some bad experiences and it does make you cautious. Remember though there's always RMA if things don't go smoothly :-)
