i have a default windows 2k pro installation (one licence) at my house, is there a way i can remotely start and stop the webserver/ftp server? i have set up a command line prompt on the server, but whereas on NT net stop works a treat on 2000 they seem to have stopped this. So is it possible via some sort of complex thing? (i am not too keen on the thought of remote control software too much, it would freak out the others users when i am not there and they are using it)

Any help/comments/web links are very welcome

Thanks
Chris

A Life, where can i download one of those from?

You can logon via Terminal Serivces and remotely administer your machine.

http://www.sysinternals.com/ also has some command line utilities that can start/stop servies remotely, but if your trying to do this over the internet I'm not sure it will work.

E-mail me if you have any questions
