I've done a lot of research and just wanted to post this one final time to make sure this is a good gaming build.

It's a good build, i'd get the crucial ram for 43.99$ it's cheaper, but overall a nice build.

I'd heavily suggest getting a mechanical hard drive instead of an SSD for now - you can always add one in later. Otherwise the rest of that build looks good, I say go for it.

He might have already a hdd.
A ssd is a good option, specially for a new build for os and games.

The asrock z77 extreme 6 is a better board, and it's cheaper without rebates, 140$.
Gigabyte is 144$, not worth it.
