My old motherboard recently died, and all I had to replace it is an old Compaq Presario SR5250NX computer. I replaced the power supply with the 700 watt power supply from my computer that died, and the IPLIP-LC motherboard in the computer supports PCIE x16. Despite this, when I try to put in my GTX 550 Ti, it won't recognize the device. In the device manager the device "Intel(R) 945G/GZ/GC/P/PL PCI Express Root Port - 2771" is showing the following error:
Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device. To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35)
I've tried updating the motherboard to the latest BIOS (5.19) that I could find for it, with no results.
